Colombian powerhouse iaki Vallejo - singer/songwriter, arranger and musical director - delivers dynamic contemporary Latin vibes with charisma, vibrancy and sensuality.
Expect up-tempo rhythms infusing soul, funk, afro beat and jazz as well as more traditional Latin forms of Salsa and Cumbia to create a sound that is truly representative of today’s Latin music community, built on a foundation of rich history of Afro/Colombian rhymes and global styles.
Latin music is a world unto itself and Iaki and her 8 piece band are the perfect gateway to this rich, musical world bringing a sense of fun, a dash of drama and vibration of sensuality to their performances.
2016 saw iaki release her debut self-titled album at Melbourne’s prestigious Jazz club ‘Bennett’s Lane’. Her latest releases, ‘India Soy Negra Soy’ and ‘Maria Se Fué’ are both singles from the forthcoming album ‘Yo Soy’ slated for release in July 2019.
iaki was awarded Best Female Voice Melbourne in 2009 and later in 2016 was bestowed with the ‘Peace Award’ by the International
Federation of Peace Melbourne.
Iaki and her band are in high demand and have played at a diverse array of festivals and live performances all over Melbourne and beyond including: Viva Festival, White Night (Melbourne & Ballarat), Moomba, Victorian Multicultural Festival, Ventana Street Festival, Night Cat, Kew Court House, Abbotsford Convent and Paris Cat Jazz Club, not to mention her Latin American Tour in 2018
