Afro Jazz trio, JAIXI formed in 2012 in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), a country deeply rooted in rich musical history. Their sound is a fusion of African rhythms and contemporary jazz harmonies, which weaves a colourful tapestry for the audience to enjoy.
The founding members are Arnaud KOFFI BI (Pianist), Israël BOKA (Drums) and Isaac BADIEL (bass guitar).
The band have three albums to their credit, ‘The Beginning’, ‘Nostalgie’ and ‘Psalms 150’, with the latter featuring talented saxophonist, Boaz Sax. They are in high demand throughout Africa and Europe and have played a feast of festivals including: Jazz Feeling, MASA Festival, Kriol Jazz Festival, Jaa a Ouaga, Night of Avatars, Dongri’n Blues Festival, SOKO Festival, and the International Jazz Festival in Senegal as well as two international tours.
With an immense amount of experience and expertise between the three members, they have worked with artists such as Pastor Mohammed SANOGO, Meiway, Petit Dénis, Chantal Taïba, Ismaël Isaac, David Tayorault, Mawa Traoré, Alain Demari, Nash, JJK, Bétika, Orentchi, Amédée Pierre, Bailly Spinto, Yodé & Siro, Aïcha Koné, Gadji Céli Barbara Kanam, Monique Séka, Awilo Logomba and Kanda Bongoman among many others.
