Live N Local festival 2017 is a free winter celebration of music across the City of Port Phillip.

Brought to you by the City of Port Phillip and St Kilda Festival, Live N Local will serve up a selection of music, workshops and performances in an array of exciting and unique venues over eight glorious days.

Live N Local also hosts a free Artist Development Program for those wanting to break into the industry, meet experts and gain further skills and knowledge. Live N Local will also host 'The Door's Open' an industry open day that will see education bodies, recording studios, music retail and hire businesses open their doors for free tours and workshops.

Ras Jahknow

Ras Jahknow  blazes new soul and fresh rhythms into what is described best as culturally rich, roots reggae music. Weave through the diverse native sounds from the African island nation of Cape Verde, Brazil, Tanzania and Mauritius to Australia. The band embodies a vision of unity, respect and peace.

Ras Jahknow formed the band in late 2010, and they have since cemented themselves as one of Melbourne’s most iconic reggae ensembles, showcasing at 2014 Antenna Awards and performing at numerous festivals such as:

- Viva Victoria 

- Africa Music & Cultural Festival 

- Strawberry Fields 

- St Kilda

- Brunswick
